WORD WORKSHOP

Whether God has called you to be a vocational pastor or a Bible-study leader, all teachers are called to rightly handle the Word of God (2 Timothy 2:15). It doesn't matter if we have been teaching for decades or are just starting, we should continually strive to progress in communicating the Word faithfully (1 Timothy 4:15). The Sacramento Word-Workshop is designed to equip anyone who is eager to deepen their skills in studying and teaching the Word of God, providing tools and insights to enhance your ministry.

The Sacramento Word-Workshop will feature several instructional sessions designed to sharpen you with effective tools for in-depth word-work. But unlike a conference, this workshop will feature times to interact with the Word and the tools being taught. This means each participant is required to prepare and present texts from the book of Hebrews using the provided worksheet. You will present your text and worksheet in small groups and receive constructive feedback from fellow participants. Hands-on wrestling through the Word together is one of the best ways to refine our thinking and advance our skill in handling and communicating the Word.

The Sacramento Word-Workshop is hosted by Redeemer Bible Church on January 10-11, 2025. On Friday, the workshop will run from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and on Saturday from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Refreshments will be available throughout the event, with lunch provided on Friday. The cost to attend is $25. Register now and elevate your handling of the Word!

Pastor Justin grew up in a family devoted to following Jesus. At some point along the way, he repented and placed his faith in Christ Jesus. After attending a small Christian university, he found himself in a pastoral internship at Grace Bible Church in Fair Oaks. Under the care of these faithful pastor-elders, God called Pastor Justin to gospel ministry. From 2009-2013, he attended The Cornerstone Seminary in Vallejo. In 2017, the Lord graciously led Pastor Justin to Elk Grove Bible Church (now Redeemer Bible Church) in Elk Grove, CA. Over the past years, the Lord has been abundantly kind to Redeemer Bible — many have come to know Jesus and are maturing in their walk with Jesus.

Josh has been serving as a pastor since 2003 and teaching at Bible Colleges and Seminaries since 2005. Josh and his wife Melody have two beautiful daughters, three adopted sons and love caring for people in the neighborhood, especially foster children. Josh was involved in church planting in South LA for seven years, but is now serving as one of the lead pastors at Redeemer Bible Church in Elk Grove where he preaches, teaches, and trains up leaders. Josh also loves robotics, programming (Bible software), languages (Hebrew, Greek, and Spanish), and studying and teaching through as many books of the Bible as he is able.
